Aches and Pains

It's been a full weekend for me...not so much with activities but plenty of housework, although last night I made spaghetti and meatballs (with ground turkey, I rarely eat red meat and ground turkey tastes better than hamburger) then I watched a movie with my family, "Evan Almighty", which wasn't bad and I've developed a fondness for Steve Carell. From what I hear about the show, The Office, if I want to keep being fond of him, I shouldn't watch it because he plays a jackass...so yeah not a bad movie, I could think of worse ways to spend a couple hours.

I went coupon shopping today in Granville with my mother. The Price Chopper there doubles coupons up to a dollar and it's becoming the only way to shop anymore seeing as the price of everything is skyrocketing.

After shopping, we went to watch my daughters in a bowling tournament and I found out my eldest had been folding her glasses to set them down and they had come apart at the bridge....why is it that everything happens at once and right before the holiday shopping season? So tomorrow I have to take her to the optometrist and see what they can do for them.....likely i'll have to pay for new frames, probably no fixing them, that's how my luck works. Cross your fingers if you've a mind to and with any act of providence, I might come through this not too badly off....if my luck holds there, hopefully the doctor's visit for my fibromyalgia will do just as well. Now it's time to get ready for work tomorrow and hit the hay...

Happy Halloween

It's times like this that make me wonder how unlucky I can get. I came home today with some pizza from work (they fed all the construction guys and us) and it was sausage and peppers. I've had a reaction to cooked peppers in the past but not lately. Silly me...after eating a couple pieces, I started getting terrific pains in my stomach...and all an hour before we were ready to take the girls out trick or treating. I was supposed to meet my friend Clara out in Glens Falls around 5:30...but despite the pain, I managed to get there almost on time.
I drove in my car while my friend walked (her choice) our route with the girls. Her youngest was dressed up like a goth, my girls were both pirates and my eldest girl's boyfriend was a ghoul. I didn't get to all the people's houses I wanted to, I missed a good friend's place and i'm going to email her and tell her i'm sorry.
My malady has sidelined me more than once, causing me to be late or forego events entirely. It would be nice to live a normal life once in a while...boring but nice...nevertheless, the costumes have now been shed, the candy sorted, the bodies in motion have stopped....and mom is now heading out into the kitchen to raid the candy bowls...

Hello World..

Oh heck, i'm so new at this...well not writing per se, but blogging...ok Asthmagirl is my superhero alter ego thought up by one of my best friends...jokingly....yes I have asthma among other maladies. Fibromyalgia, IBS, allergies blah blah blah...and those are only the physical ones, I won't even mention the particular addiction to sweets of the bakery persuasion. Oh and Brent Spiner...yeah but that's not such a secret with those who know me.

I'm a woman living in upstate New York (or New Yuck if you pay taxes and try to put gas in your car at the same time), but seriously, it's a beautiful place. I live in Argyle about 20 minutes away from the Queen of American Lakes, Lake George, with my husband, two daughters, a dog and a neurotic cat...I feel for the cat....

I'm a photographer...trying to get famous anyway, I cross stitch, crochet, read, write, travel, cook and work...not much out of 39 years of life but it's not been a bad trip. I'll see what I can dish up of interest in coming blogs. Anyone with any questions...feel free to ask...i'm not too far gone to answer...
